FAQ
-
How much does it cost?
We charge a standard fee of $5 per signature that requires a notary (notarial act). This fee is set by Minnesota State Law: Minn. Stat. Sec. 357.17.
If we are travelling to you, we charge $0.70/mile; and if you need witnesses, we charge $50 per witness.

How does it work?
All notary appointments will begin with a review of your documents to verify they are prepared properly for notarization. We will then verify your identity by checking your photo ID or other form of identification. Finally, we will ask you to sign and date in each appropriate place, which we will notarize.
-
I'm not in Minnesota, can you still notarize my document?
Yes, in a remote online notarization session, what matters is that our notary is physically in Minnesota for the appointment; you can join the remote session from anywhere with a stable internet connection.
-
Can you notarize real estate documents?
Yes, we can notarize real estate documents but we cannot prepare the documents for you or verify that you are signing the correct documents. We recommend working with an attorney or other real estate professional first to ensure you have the correct documents before bringing them to be notarized.
-
Can you notarize estate planning documents?
Yes, we can notarize estate planning documents (wills, trusts, powers of attorney, or similar documents). Some of these require witnesses to be legally enforceable, and most states (but not Minnesota) still require physical signatures on wills and other documents, and are not eligible for a remote online session.
In 2023, Minnesota passed the Uniform Electronic Wills Act, which makes electronic wills able to be digitally signed and remotely witnessed.

What is notarization?
Notarization is the official process by which a notary public verifies the authenticity of signatures on documents, confirms the identity of the signers, and ensures that all parties sign willingly and under their own free will.
While it can seem like just an extra hoop to jump through, it is a vital part of our legal system.
